The Premium Institute of Bartending Schools

  Course Overview

Our Comprehensive, 34-hour Bartending Class, that can be completed in 1 to 2 weeks,  provides a hands-on environment that allows the students the opportunity to learn the skills of bartending using official bar equipment, bottles, and drink recipes.  The program includes a mix of lecture and lab courses.  The students learn the art of mixology by preparing frozen drinks, layered drinks, specialized cocktails, speed and efficiency in preparing drinks, bar operations, the knowledge of beers and wines.  Additionally, the Bartending Course will train you in inventory control, running and managing bar tabs, and the Point of Sale Systems.  The skills learned in this course prepare students for careers in the Bartending industry as bartenders, waiters, and bar backs in restaurants, dance clubs, bars, and hotels, as well as the skills to work as independent bartenders for special events and parties.  All students will receive their Bartending License (TABC), and their Certificate of Completion (good nationwide).

Our History

The Premium Institute of Bartending was founded by David Phillips. Prior to opening the school, I researched other Bartending Schools as well as talked to over 20 bar and restaurant owners.

I asked students what they would like to see in a Bartending School

Instructors who care and will help us learn what we need to know
The school needs to look and feel like a bar
Getting experience behind a real bar
Job Placement Assistance

With that in mind, I built my Bartending Schools to simulate a real bar and during class, we set the mood to make you feel like you are in a real bar. I added the Externship Program to help get students in front of a real bar BEFORE they graduate. I created a professional development class to help students learn how to interview for Bartending jobs and ensure they have a quality resume for Bartending positions. I've equipped the Bartending School with computers to help students prepare their resumes as well as research companies on the Internet.

I asked the Dallas Bar/Restaurant Owners what skills they wanted Bartending Graduates to have. This is what they said.

Speed and Efficiency behind the bar
Accuracy in Liquor Pouring
Presentation of the drinks

So our entire Bartending Curriculum is built around these three components. You will learn to use two hands while making drinks, learn to minimize the number of steps to complete multiple drink orders, learn to accurately pour from ¼ ounce to 3 oz’s of liquor, and learn the proper fill levels of the different glassware as well as all the Garnishes that go with the cocktails.

This is what The Premium Institute of Bartending is all about. It’s like our students say. “YOU GUYS GET IT”!!!!

AND WE DO!!
